Rotorua

After 2 rainy days in Wellington and a 7 hour bus ride we ended up in Rotorua...the geothermal capital of New Zealand. Luckily the place we're staying is not on the same side of town as the sulfur springs, so the smell isn't bad at all. Our first day here we went to the largest geothermal park where we saw boiling mud, geysers, champagne pools, and all kinds of steaming things. Yesterday it rained again so we took the opportunity to enjoy some of the natural springs at a local spa...it was nice. For today, the blue sky has already disappeared and the rain looks eminent. Despite the weather many in the group are considering white water rafting. I may just opt for the Mauri arts and crafts museum instead...I haven't decided.

Our bus for Auckland leaves early tomorrow morning!
